XeteX’s May issue of “Did You Know” features a surgical suite desiccant air handling unit. Surgical suites need to operate at low space temperatures which proves to be challenging for the HVAC design. Operating at low temperatures challenges the air handling systems serving those spaces. The main challenge is that if the space temperature is lowered, then the dew point must also be lowered to maintain relative humidity within the permitted range. XeteX was able to provide an air handling unit with a desiccant dehumidification wheel which was designed with the demands of low dew point in mind.
